Busy night here on DragonMoor East as ALL the cows, goats, elk, goats and piggies decided to take advantage of the full moon and go nuts birthing their babies.
All the little ones are so cute and very healthy.
They are already eating and wandering around.
Such an exciting time when the animals have their new offspring.
Thankfully, no complications and all the moms were able to birth their new babes unassisted.

Reyn and I had a lovely evening inviting guests over to our new home. It was important to us both to welcome our friends, where we both hope we will have many more dance parties and gatherings. We want everyone to know you are always welcome at the Softly Cottage.
Pictured are our Puppies Missy and Barachie, gifts from myself to my partner Reyn. Missy is created by Whisper Carfield. Blessings and Tubes by Thor Asgard, fountain by Kamira Sirnah. Thank you for our lovely gifts.

It is no secret that the Great Canadian Grid ebbs and flows with changing times. We have seen our residents come and go then come back again. Yet the "core" group of Great Canadian gridders stays strong. I am not a native to Canada but I have seen firsthand the "true" spirit of Canada by the "true" Canadians that reside at the grid. I have seen an openness to share time, talent and resources to anyone that asks. Their spirit is strong, unwavering and steadfast.
Standing by grid owner Roddie Macchi, comes naturally to these folks, it is their loyalty and love for country, but it is much more than that. It is their love of Roddie, who keeps his grid steady by following his heart and always putting his friends first. Granted, he has had to make grid changes that raised concern and the residents were all allowed to voice their opinions via polls or direct email. Yes, you heard right. Grid owner Roddie Macchi accepts and reads all email from concerned residents of the grid; giving them a voice. He also does forum polls giving the residents the last say in major decisions, this is where most other grids fail.
There has been grid changes of late to reflect the direction the Great Canadian Grid is heading. Not only did Roddie update the welcome region, he just completed a major overhaul to the grid's forum. Winter Silversmith now heads up the administration of the forum with Roddie, to keep the forum running smooth. A stronger team has been formed; all with the same goal of making the grid the best it possibly can be.
We hope you join us; we are all headed in the right direction, are you?
Winter Silversmith asks you to come celebrate with him as he hosts the 1st annual Agri-Fair in New Hope, Corran, GCG. The Agri-fair is a showcase of the agriculture role-play industry that is growing in the Great Canadian Grid in 2018. More Info Here!
Tigerkitti Eberdene's Vamp ball is GREAT!! Everyone looks stunning in their goth gowns and fangs!! Great time thank you Tig!
Many of us have been wondering and worrying needlessly about the GDPR rules and regulations concerning the Great Canadian Grid. Roddie Macchi has just informed me we have new webpages to reflect his position concerning this, and the great news is we are fine, you just need to activate your avatars, many grids now require this.
This only needs to be done once to comply. All new GCG Avatars will not have to do this it will be done automatically at the registration page.

Winter Silversmith invited residents to his New Hope, Corran region for a second and final evening, where he displayed fireworks in honour of Queen Victoria Day as observed in Canada. Stunning display of colour lit up the night sky as residents oohed and aahed. Thank you for such a great time Winter!

So, by now many of you have heard about the new Satyr Farm group, and the farms. I found I have enjoyed doing the farming. It is great for when there is not much going on within the grid but you want things to do. I started the group so that we can all help each other out to make our farming experience as smooth and fun as possible.
What can you do on the farm? Well for starters of course, you grow crops. You can auto feed and water them, or you can do it manually. Great for roleplay situations as anyone in the group you rez your farm under can help out. So, you can have your farm, farm workers. I can imagine the possibilities. Getting together for harvests etc. Raising a barn? Having a lil drink or two in the kitchen where the bar is. Who wants to come stop the grapes, or grind the olives into oil?. Want to bake a pie or cake, bread maybe? Or add more booze to the bar. Yup you can make booze too. Water the grass to feed the cows and keep them happy. Milk the cows, feed maybe that rooster is bugging you, how about taking the meat off his bones. This farm is very interactive, and the animations and all are wonderful.
You can make it as big or small as you wish. Standard size is the feed, water towers etc must be within 90 M. So, if you want a bigger farm, just add more towers and wells, as well as your storage racks. I have a special storage rack for everyone who wants to do this. This rack comes equipped with enough items to last a couple months. With this, you can start off your farm immediately instead of having to wait for the crops etc to feed the animals. You can keep growing your crops to replenish these racks as well. With these racks, you cannot auto feed at this time without some mods to the scripts, which I need to look into. But manually feeding doesn't take all that long.
With the crops, I have it all on auto water to simplify it as I have a bigger farm. You do still need your wells and water towers to be close enough of course, and when your crops are ripe, you harvest them manually. This is done so easily. You just touch your ripe field and the bucket of crops comes up. Touch the bucket and it will follow you where you go to place it in your Storage units. Or to make your items. You get items from the storage, and can also put them inside. Same with the fridge. You can fish for a while, and add that to the fridge as well. So, want a little pond to fish in? Cool. Want to fish off a dock, the possibilities are endless.
Even better, there is a Google + group called Satyr farms that you can join to get updates, information or perhaps ask a question. Everyone seems very nice and willing to help out. Your farm comes with a truck that contains a box you can link to the group. You can sell items there, and earn points. If you like to be competitive or just do it for fun, your choice there. Some have been working on mods so that you can perhaps, eat the baked goods etc. There is always interesting things to read about in this group. So, if you like the idea of adding a farm to your land, big or small, this is the group for you. I can give you the extra rack, and as well, I can help you set up if you need.
If you are interested, feel free to contact me, Tigerkitti Eberdene to join the group. Or, anyone listed in the group as a farm owner can add you. People who are your helpers will be listed as Satyr farmers. So, let's see if we can get a few more farms out there and have some fun! Happy Farming.
