The Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, when the sun warms us a little later; energizing all we do to celebrate that. In GCG we can change our sky settings and hold onto the virtual sunlight for as long as we wish. Our own beloved magazine writer, Tigerkitti Eberdene, has offered her benevolent and generous hosting skills to the grid again for another loving of the Celtic seasonal holidays for this Summer Solstice. The party started at 2pm grid time in the gazebo area of the FailteShire area of the Scottsdale region. DJ Madrul Smith kicked off the festivities and offered a fantastic set as always. The build is simply enchanting in every direction. Tig has majestic dragons flying in the sky and sweet little deer scampering through the meadows. You need to just stop and take it all in because it's very worth every minute spent looking for the details. What an amazing place for a celebration. I'll let the pictures tell the rest. Everyone radiated all that sun love in their finest and funkiest. You rock GCG, and you rock Tig!
July 1st, 2017 we turn One Year old.
Reflecting back over our last year brings back so many awesome memories. We had so many wonderful times here at GCG, many come to mind. We covered art, events, roleplay regions, and even parades.
This year we plan to do things a little bit differently. Since we now have our online magazine we think it is now time to retire our inworld edition.
We want to thank our residents for your continued support. If you have regions you would love us to cover, please drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or simply IM inworld. If you have articles you would like to submit we welcome resident articles. We have writer positions open often so please inquire if you are interested in writing for the GCG SUN.
GCG SUN Team, thank you for your continued loyalty to our mission and our GCG, your devotion has made our magazine flourish.

“Where it’s always a bright new day and a bright new beginning.”
If you ever read Alice In Wonderland, or saw the movies, then you have an idea of what the Land of Sunrise is set up like. No, it’s not themed for that story at all. It’s home to pixies and faeries. Its enchanting décor is a delight to visit. I found myself smiling as soon as I landed on the island’s shore.
You can almost smell the flowers as you wander through the forest along the river. Colorful fungi, strangely shaped trees, and interesting rock formations that seem to have eyes dot the landscape.
There are numerous little cottages and stumpish abodes all around, but mostly up in the tall white cliffs that surround the island. There’s a secret pad you can use to find your way to a floating island above the forest that has a small castle and dragons flying about.
There’s even a floating ‘neighborhood’ of smaller islands with cottages, running brooks and a windmill. The deep blue sea laps at the shore and just inside the little bay there’s a dock with fae boats tied up. You can even take a trip around the perimeter of Sunrise in one of them.
The island’s owner and builder, Taggster Sunrise, says this about her little paradise, “Relax, sit by a fire, dance, meet friends, have a drink, fish… do some roleplay… do what faeries do… or be a pixie… be a grand lady or gentleman… roam around to your hearts’ content… explore… who knows what? Just be kind to one another.”
Tag has also placed a vendor box of free pixie avatars at the pier if you’d like to really get into the mood. Clip on your wings and then buzz away!
Sunrise is located at the northern borders of the Role Play Continent of Alardania in our Great Canadian Grid. It’s totally surrounded by the sea giving it an isolated enchanted character. You can get a landmark when you query ‘search’ under ‘Places’.

Right now I am sitting here thinking about the event I had last night at my castle. I called it "Raising the Roof for Rex and Ray".
For those of you who are not familiar with those names, I must tell you about them.
Ray and Rex are an amazing couple of guys. I have known them for many years, and I consider them to be my family, brothers I never had in rl. They have been together for over 21 years in rl.
For all those they come into contact with on GCG, they become like family to them as well.
Ray is the more outgoing of this couple, with Rex being more the thinker. Either way, awesome guys who will do anything for anyone in need of help.
What led up to my event is a sad, and scary story. Years ago Rex had a kidney transplant.
He developed an infection that caused him to go into complete renal failure. That led to his stay in a hospital 4 hours away from home as they fought the infection and worked to determine what, if any damage had been done to his kidney.
Unfortunately we found out yesterday that the damage is extensive, and he has just 15% kidney function. This means dialysis, and possibly more.
The expenses surrounding medical and travel can be staggering, so this is the reason for my event.
I was so very pleased to see all who showed up. What a beautiful outpouring of compassion and caring!
Darlin was amazing, stepping in on a moment's notice to DJ the event. I had a few others volunteer as well, and for that I am thankful.
The music was great, and Ray kept us posted throughout the event about what Rex was telling him on the phone.
I do believe that Ray and Rex experienced a few tearful moments as they realized just how much we all care about them both. As of today, the amount we raised is $40,000 mc.
I am honoured to know Rex and Ray, and also to know all the other awesome people on this grid.
To see you taking time to help out a fellow member, to see us all come together as a family warms my heart.
I have left the wolf tip jar out, and it will be an ongoing fundraiser for as long as needed.
If you do wish to help, just ask me for the LM.
I know that this is the BEST GRID out there! If there had been any doubts, they were swept away by the generosity I saw last night.
I just want to let you all know that you are amazing and send out the biggest THANK YOU! I can muster.
