As most of you know, the GCG Sun has been my inworld vocation and inspiration for over two years, publishing daily articles, inworld editions, and seasonal events, focusing on the love I have for this grid and our residents. The Sun presents what moves you, what inspires you, and what brought you to this grid.
To fulfill the role of the GCG Sun Publisher, I put my jewelry store on hold even while I promoted you, our residents, and our venues. However, my jewelry-creation is my personal passion; I missed that process and realizing new creations, so I have decided to step aside from the GCG Sun. I will once again focus on my store, my creations, and my passions.
Thank you for always believing in me, and supporting me with all the great things you do here at the grid. You and your contributions to this great grid are what keep me inspired, all of you. So show me what you've got and let's make this grid the best grid there is.
P.S.: If you would like to follow Reyn and my adventures, we will keep you current here: https://www.virtual-hg.com/

First of all I would like to thank Ms Softly for asking me to be Tech Editor. I am very pleased and honored that she thought my writing style is good enough to print.
For my first article I decided to cover something mentioned before by Miss Tig Eberdene. The enjoyable creation that is know as SatyrFarm; my article is along the lines of the technical side of establishing a farm. Did you know that you can add any object to your farm? Due to this capability, I got creative, and some of the products from Raptor Nest Vineyards will now be sold in my various stores around the grid. The majority of the items will be only sold in my winery shop at Daniken Estates, a big thanks to Dani Gallager for offering to allow us to setup our shop there.
So other than the official crops that come standard with the farm, I am also growing the following custom plants: Catnip, Lavender, Chili Peppers, Pumpkins, Snowberries, a collection of Herbs, Trees for Coconuts, Cinnamon Bark, and Limes. I recently added Barley as well, and am working with several new ideas. As soon as I have the "Bugs" worked out, I will offer some of them for anyone else who has a farm to use.
There are three ways to add new items to your farm, the easy way, the slightly easy way, and the harder way. The easy way is to wait for someone else to add the item you want, or to ask the creator of the farms if the item you would like can be added to a later version.
The slightly easy way is to right click the item, a tree, one of the fields or any of the other items. Wait for the Object contents screen to open, then click Copy to Inventory. Once its in your inventory rename the SF object to whatever you want to grow. Rez and re-texture the bucket, then add that object back into the original item. Don't forget to change the texture files as well to match your new item. Then you carefully add said item to the list in the config note card.
For Example lets say you want to add something to your SF Small Field. This is the Configuration (Config) note card from it, BEFORE:
PRODUCTLIST=SF Carrots,SF Eggplants,SF Onions,SF Peppers,SF Potatoes,SF Strawberries,SF Sugar Cane,SF Tomatoes,SF Tea Leaves
Lets use Soybeans as an example, you add Soybeans to the PLANTLIST at the very end and SF Soybeans to the end of the PRODUCTLIST. Each addition must have a comma and UNspaced from the item before it, the first letter uppercase or the script will not detect it. So your end result should look like this:
[EXAMPLE AFTER ADDED]
PRODUCTLIST=SF Carrots,SF Eggplants,SF Onions,SF Peppers,SF Potatoes,SF Strawberries,SF Sugar Cane,SF Tomatoes,SF Tea Leaves, SF Soybeans
[EXAMPLE AFTER ADDED]
Every time you add something to your item it resets itself, so no need to reset it. To grow your new product, all you have to do is click on the field like you normally would. Select Plant and click on your newly added product that will now be listed in the menu. [If not, check both your note card as well as your new item for spelling errors, upper or lower case difference.] That is the slightly easy way.
The harder way involves a little imagination, a little nerve, and some skill in photo editing. The only difference between the slightly easy way and the harder way, is that you personally add the textures for what ever item you want. If you want bamboo to grow, you find bamboo textures. Make the background transparent and add the textures to the list. You now have bamboo, all you to do is plant it like the rest and watch it grow.
Or If you want to use the farm and your in a region that is prim conscious and have to watch your prim number very carefully. Do what I said to do in the slightly easy method, and place the contents into a single prim. It will still work but without all the extras to worry about. For example the water tower, will still work as a water tower in a single prim. Just remember to correctly name it for your other items to use it.
I am always experimenting on ideas or products for the farm, so if you have any ideas for what to grow, need input on how to do it, or need help with any other tech issue just ask. If you send me an IM or a note card when I am online and I do not reply right away. It is because I am either working or AFK, I will reply back as soon as I can.

I created these to use in Timmy's at Rockin' Roller region; to be used with the cookies and cupcakes.
Creating a Cupcake Liner in Blender
Start with a cylinder with an even number of vertices (try 36) and NGon cap fill:
Give the cylinder the shape of a cupcake paper liner
Select the top face and make it larger by scaling it (S). Then, delete the face (X):
Select half of the side edges
1. Switch to edge selecting mode
2. Select one edge at the top and one at the bottom circles
3. Multi select loops (Press Space and search for this function)
4. Select inverse (Press Space and search for this function)
5. Checker deselect (Press Space and search for this function)
Create the creases
Make this selection larger by scaling it:
After creating your liner you can add modifiers to solidify, bevel and subdivide to make your cupcake liner to your liking. Export and save as a DAE (a future article). Ultimately, when you import your DAE as mesh into the GCG, you will have a white, mesh object you can easily tint in texture settings.

…this will be your first thought when you venture to the Halloween venue that Tigerkitti Eberdene has created with the help of her daughters and friends.
Here you will see a farm with animals that have mutated, each wearing the other animal's heads. There are troughs filled with slimy maggots, Tig explained it’s their favourite food.
She has created a corn maze with hidden surprises for you to find, some are tricks others are treats; the path inside will confuse you as you try to find your way out.
There is a pond created for the fishing event, with spooky mist and fog rising above along the paths; the feeling of Halloween is present at every twist and turn here.
Please come join in this Halloween Madness the region is open now for guests, then
October 25th, 2018
DJ Maldrul will be the amazing sound man for the fishing contest at 2-4 p.m. GCG time, and the dance to follow from 4-6 p.m. $MC prizes and Halloween themed prizes.
Tigerkitti had a great turnout for the last fishing contest and everyone had so much fun. Come on out with your best Halloween costume on and fish, dance and enjoy the fun!
