For 4 yrs. now we have seen Roddie do everything he can from day one by himself as the only man running pretty much everything on the inside and out until we were able to find loyal and competent people to help him. But, Roddie still has to do everything himself as he oversees everything except when he needs help with the tech side.
Roddie pays his tech quite a bit a month on a regular basis to look after our tech issues. So, if tech issues are not getting fixed, who do we blame? I do find it very interesting that every time we have "tech issues" that his own tech guy who also has his own grid does not go down at all and then have a 2 for 1 sale during the same time. His tech, continuously mentions that we are a mirror image of his grid yet we still have issues, why? This tech keeps quiet in the background and lets it lay on Roddie's feet to explain why things aren't working. I believe he should be more accountable on how things have been running.
Roddie is a Grid Owner, not a tech guy. He puts his money and ours right back into the grid and probably most of it goes towards his tech guy, websites, taxes, servers, licenses for us to have the right to play copyrighted music that even other grids don't have, or have you even looked at other grids Terms of Service Page where they say "You’re on your own for playing legal music?”
Roddie goes through a lot that no one has any clue of in the background to keep his beloved dream and our home running. From Taxes to report no doubt, to paperwork, complaints, support, handling of some of the tech side and making sure all 5000 or more residents are happy. Is it a wonder then when everyone leaves his side and the grid and talks down about everything he tries or does, he is ready to throw in the towel? But he doesn't. I have never seen someone so persistent in keeping a grid running no matter what or who he has to deal with.
The rumors, the gossip, etc. must weigh heavy on one person after a while. And so, who are we to question or dictate or judge when none of us have never run a grid. Or had to handle working with others who are competing with you at the same time. These are things we need to keep in mind next time we want to bitch at Roddie Macchi. Instead of always getting him to hold our hand, why don't we as a community start helping him for a change by promoting the grid and give hell to those who try to bring it down since we all know it's probably someone from another grid coming in and trying to ruin our good name, to bring us down so that everyone leaves to go to other grids. Roddie can't do it all, and if we we're anything of a community we would be protecting and helping our Grid Owner and let HIM know that we are here for him as much as he has been here for us for the last 4 yrs.
Since coming to the Great Canadian Grid, I have noticed a pattern of public complaining and airing grievances at our social media sites, like I am doing now, it can be both refreshing and detrimental to our community spirit and growth.
When our residents see our members of the grid, posting negative comments and slamming the grid and its owner it affects us all as a community.
I do find it refreshing though, to debate and work out solutions with our community publicly because it also helps the community to grow. When we post our concern, we should choose our words carefully though, and not plant seeds of doubts that undermine the growth we experience.
We all work and build up our regions and businesses, with the community humming along fine, until someone chooses to use our GCG Group chat or social sites to slam grid. When they do it goes out to all the members at GCG, it is planting negative seeds of doubt among the community.
We have concerns that we need to ask about, that is a given, it is the choosing of one’s negative words that I take offence at. It is a negative programming of one’s spirit and soon people begin to leave.
When you post your comment please keep this in mind and frame your question in a manner that does not defame or trash, or you are hurting us all as a community. Think about Roddie for a change, and not what you expect because you pay tier. He is doing all he possibly can for all of us.
Thank you for your time, this is something I needed to say. Knowing Roddie, he will probably be told to take this down too like most negative comments but this one needs to be told so I hope he doesn’t. Oh wait… he can’t I run this lol. Love you Roddie :)
