One of the main focuses here at the GCG Sun is to feature regions around the grid, which we love to do. It showcases what you, the GCG residents, have worked so hard to create. In my research, I have discovered that my husband's regions, Reyn Softly's regions, have not yet been featured.
His magical, marvelous regions lie quietly in all their glory to be discovered by the few who happen upon them. I would like to touch on his regions, so you too can choose to enjoy the magic.
Having worked with Reyn Softly for over two years, I knew he had a creative mind. Through his literature, I have come to learn of a man who is an independent thinker, one who thinks outside the proverbial “box”. And, everything he touches has a sense of humour.
One day, before marrying Reyn, I decided to venture to Trey Magnifique’s cave, (Trey is Reyn’s "dark" alt) and ended up exploring Reyn's region Silver Birch more intensely, discovering he is not only a gifted writer, he also extends his creative eye to all aspects of his regions.
About Trey, his alt, Reyn explains, " Trey failed at role-play, so he rented a cave just above the haunted swamp by the sunken ghost ship across from the School of Magik, so's he can easily get some good eatin' weeds and learn how to make everyone in every world equal through education, gonna take some magik."
When I asked Reyn what inspired him, he replied, "My reason for creating Silver Birch was to have a peaceful, sort of natural place to wander about, find odd things, like the knight-guarded pants-safe in the pond under the moldy Goddess. "
Rockhenge is an iconic, surreal place to dance or to chat in a group or in a more intimate area, shadows and moonlight become it; and the Druids already got "Stonehenge". Reyn explained "No one uses it, so I filled it with friends, and memories of friends." As you enter, it fills with dancing and chatting, animated NPCs.
(Reyn surprised me one morning when I logged in. He had given to me an NPC of us embraced, so that we could share a "forever" hug, and later, another of him carrying me into the ocean waves. I don't have to tell you, it adds a touch of romance to the regions.)
I soon found myself wanting to return to Silver Birch, it felt like home. I soon learned too, that it was considered home to many of Reyn’s friends. His open and peaceful nature attracts like-minded friends to come stay awhile, or never leave. With his humour and love, he mixes in perspectives to help you smile, and to help you see a little bit past the "norm".
I would like to invite you to come see sometime how the mind of a creative genius works, I feel fortunate to be on this magical mystery tour with him.
