Reflecting back on our friend, Loki Mahana, I wanted to share a memory about him.
I had the idea to have free, weekend rentals available as a way to promote residents' regions. Opening their regions and homes up for "Weekenders" would be a way they could showcase their venues.
The idea was received with a variety of responses; Loki was one who loved the concept. He built and contributed two homes to the pool of free rentals. He regularly logged in, all excited, to ask if there were any Weekenders for his place. I loved his excitement and how he engaged with it, as a fun idea. The video below is of a home Loki created for Weekenders. He opened his home up to all of us to come share a part of his life.
Loki loved the concept of opening our regions to Weekenders because he wanted guests to visit, and to stay awhile and to "enjoy" what he created and shared from his imagination and skills. Loki wanted to form new friendships, and to show his world, our home, and what we are: a grid full of generous, kind, and loving people.
Thank you Loki, for all you contributed to the Great Canadian Grid, and for having a loving heart.
