Today, I had the pleasure of driving and stopping in a wonderful little Prairie Moon town called Nowhere. This is a great place to visit during the holidays.
Upon entering the town, I stopped to look in awe at a majestic moose, who by the way, hands out a notecard telling you where to visit.
My first stop was a cozy cafe where a lone trucker was taking a break. The cook was busy making food but he assured me he could help me quickly.
As I left there, I saw a little store beside the cafe. I decided to grab some gum and found a couple of men talking about the party going on. Even though I was a stranger I was invited to just pop over to the party, all welcome there.
Leaving the store, I hear "Oscar! Vien ici!" Renee Champlain introduces herself and her little dog, telling me more about the party but asks for me to keep quiet about seeing her. Seems not all want to be in the crowd it seems. "Merci Renee." I say as I follow her directions to head over to where the party is.
On up the road I walked till I found the party at a cozy little home. I was welcomed in right away.
A young boy was heading out to skate, impatiently waiting for his mom to finish fussing over his outfit being warm enough.
Moving on to the living room, a group of people trim the tree, as a young girl prepares to bravely sing for others.
The kitchen has a few people chatting and even a couple sneaking a kiss underneath the mistletoe.
Venturing out into the cold again, I stopped by a cute fire pit where a dad and his daughter invited me to roast marshmallows with them. Nothing better than that on a cold day!
After a quick chat and warm up I ventured down to the dock where a young shy girl was skating and a couple of boys were showing off their hockey skills.
Looks like the kids have been rather busy as well, as I came upon a cute snowman all decked out in someone's winter wear. I sure hope it doesn't belong to one of the kids that mom bundled up!
I met Mike and Sasha checking things out and taking pictures of the lovely landscape. Sure are friendly folks here.
This town is so lovely and quaint. I do believe we should all take time to travel around a bit this winter to visit all the wonderful GCG places that are welcoming weary and curious travelers with open arms.
Tis the season and the folks here in Nowhere showed me that is it Somewhere to be!
Thanks Anna Wright for creating this lovely area for us to discover.
Now, what are you waiting for? Hop on over for a visit. Lots of friendly faces, eggnog and goodies are waiting for you!
