Phantom Rose started at Second Life in 2007. The creation of builder/owner Lannorra Sion. Lannorra had originally started a Medieval sim on the mainland in 2006, called Dragon Heart Province. She built some lovely castles and rented them out. Due to the success of DHP, she decided to rent a private sim and create something new.
A huge fan of Phantom of the Opera, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, an Opera House was mandatory. Along with her love of the Phantom, Lannorra also loved Gothic novels and the vampires of Anne Rice. Therefore, the Graveyard was born!
The Opera House was one of the first in Second Life and helped many aspiring artists give their first performances and grow their audience. An early resident of Phantom Rose, was an ardent Opera fan. Bart became the Opera House director and staged weekly opera's using all manner of media. Some were cut out actors that he moved around; some were video clips, he was an incredible asset to Phantom Rose!
In addition, Lannorra Sion held monthly Light shows, set to classical music. The Christmas Trans-Siberian Orchestra shows and the annual 4th of July show were the most popular!
One of the best kept secrets of the sim was the Phantom's Lair. Hidden beneath the Opera house was a natural water area, where the Phantom lived. He sometimes gave concerts there on his organ! And guests could use a copy of his famous gondola to ride.
The Graveyard was a popular place. Many great parties were held there and fabulous light shows. Lannorra added the Skate Mountain rink one winter and chair lifts for guests to take up to the area. It was open all year with an auto skater.
There were many weddings performed at Phantom Rose SL. Lannorra built an impressive Cathedral that was extremely popular place for weddings. She also installed her famous "Elvis Drive-Thru" Elopement. You got to pick either a pink or white Caddy for the drive.
However, the land fees were high and stressful.
Phantom Rose finally closed at Second life after 8 years, in December, 2015.

Phantom Rose at Inworldz:
In 2010, Lannorra decided to try a new grid and came to Inworldz. It was a bit rough, but a fun place. As time went by, many tech issues were fixed and the grid was running well and she decided to start another Phantom Rose.
This Phantom Rose was very different from SL PR. Lannorra liked to say that Phantom Rose in SL was where the Phantom of the Opera met Anne Rice. But at Inworldz, the new Phantom Rose was all about the Bayou and New Orleans. Truly inspired by Gothic romance, it had beautiful vistas and with dark brooding spaces. There were alligators, witches, voodoo and all manner of Gothic creatures lurking in the dark!
Phantom Rose at Inworldz opened in August 2012. It was well known for its beautiful hexagonal Opera House, inspired by Natchez's Longwood Mansion. Whereas, in Second Life Phantom Rose existed on only 1 sim, at Inworldz Lannorra was able to expand the estate to 4 sims. Which included Phantom Mists, Phantom Nights and Phantom Dreams.
Phantom Mists was the home of the well known Mermaids of the Mists, which Lannorra had created at Second Life, on the land of a friend. Inworldz gave her the space and opportunity to further explore her vision for this amazing underwater paradise. In addition, Phantom Mists was directly attached to the many Iz's Oceans and part of the Magellan Seas Community, which allowed residents and visitors to sail out of Phantom Rose harbor, thru Phantom Mists and into the many oceans provided by Inworldz.
Phantom Dreams was home of Pirate Island and the Siren's Rest Pub. PD was mainly used for more boating area and to house a large section of Lannorra's Gilt Stores.
Phantom Nights was a full fledged Role Play area. It had several levels to explore and play, including Bon Temps Manor, the Demon area and on the ground was a witches stone circle and Voodoo Circle. The area was detailed and very robust for Role Play. There were quests and a role play LEWT system that let guests harvest resources and build free items.
Lannorra expanded her stores, to include a Gothic clothing store named, Belladonna Fashions at Inworldz. With the tag line: Be Drop Dead Gorgeous! She offered roleplay clothes for both traditional and Urban customers. She expanded her Gilt Mermaid to include custom animations and a Line of Fins and Mermaid Hair.
From the beginning of the Metaverse, as more grids popped up, Lannorra made it her mission to try and support these Fledgling enterprises. She would visit them and see how there were developing. Some faded away, others grew.
As the Hyper Grids stabilize, Lannorra found herself once more exploring the metaverse. On one of these visits she hopped to The Great Canadian Grid. She loved the atmosphere, the people she met and the land prices. As a creator, she is most happy creating environments and could not resist the lure of new lands... And so her latest Phantom Rose was born.
As of May 1st, Phantom Rose at Inworldz has closed and Phantom Rose at Great Canadian Grid is Open!!
