Breathtaking, there are simply no other words to describe this build. Inworld brothers, Confrator Maximus and Steve Zodi, have artfully managed to encapsulate the ambiance of a time and place that has to be explored. The vistas beckon you to venture on. The layout of this region, is enchanting, with endless views. I have taken over thirty images and still find nice scenes to capture.
Inspired by the Game of Thrones, role-play will come naturally here, this land will mesmerize you.
The HBO ‘A Game of Thrones’ theme by author George R. R. Martin is likely known to most as the highly successful series on TV. The many dubious characters, the constant struggle for life
and absolute power, and the unique locations and scenery are only few of the many reasons why the subject lends itself perfectly for role play in GCG, the Great Canadian Grid.
Steve Zodi and Confrator Maximus, two inworld brothers, and their devoted girls recently decided to accept the challenge to revive roleplay in the grid after the partial raise of the Gorean Empire last year. The Westeros sim is nearly completed as we speak, and will be able to house numerous roleplay inhabitants. The only fee that is charged, is the regular happy and respectful presence of the contestants. Contestants, because ‘A Game of Thrones’ is a game after all. A game of politics, a game of power, a game of craftiness, strength, affection, cunning, and much more.
On regular basis, all roleplay participants will be able to claim their lordship for a full month of one of the regions of the Seven Kingdoms, by numerous different contests organized on the continent. Even the temporary government ship over the full Seven Kingdoms is possible once all of the regions have been ‘conquered’ at least once by the same rp-character.
Violence on your screen is avoided by doing this in arena mode and in a friendly atmosphere. No shocking raiding situations, no killings and no rapes are ‘needed’ this way, but are still possible if both parties agree on roleplaying that way. The common rules of safe, proper and quality roleplay are and kept high at all times.
The scenery has been pre-measured and built to match the real ‘by the books’ continent as much as possible. Geographic locations of the cities and places of interest, roads, rivers, seas, mountains, vegetation, and the buildings are highly recognizable.
For anyone who likes the episodes on TV, for anyone who likes to take a place inside it all to (re-)live it themselves, whether you want to be a Highborn in Easterly Rock or a Master trained in Oldtown, an expatriate in Castle Black, a Gold Cloak or a Kingsguard in the Red Keep, or just a citizen of Dorne, the Crownlands, the Iron Islands, the North, the Reach, the Riverlands, the Stormlands, the Vale of Arryn, the Westerlands, or even roaming the far North beyond the Wall ... it is all possible in GCG Westeros.
“What is honor compared to a woman's love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms . . . or the memory of a brother's smile? Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
